God was determined to give me the purest gift. I prayed for years that God would work in a miraculous way and free my father from the consuming grip of alcoholism. I watched his addiction erode his self-worth and any possible genuine connection between us. While God was orchestrating a set of events that led my father in the “perfect storm,” He led my husband and I down a path that allowed us to have our very own biological children after five years of unsuccessful attempts to start our own family.
I have always loved a good story, especially one with an endearing, redeeming ending.
There is nothing more comforting than knowing that God is with us on our journey, and nothing more encouraging than hearing a story about God’s redemptive power.
The Purest Gift is a story about God…
what He can do with barren land, and brokenness, and longing.
A Snapshot
Here is a snapshot of the story as it unfolds…
God was determined to give me the purest gift. I prayed for years that God would work in a miraculous way and free my father from the consuming grip of alcoholism. I watched his addiction erode his self-worth and any possible genuine connection between us. While God was orchestrating a set of events that led my father in the “perfect storm,” He led my husband and I down a path that allowed us to have our very own biological children after five years of unsuccessful attempts to start our own family.
The result of the two intersecting events proves to be divine, pointed, and powerful, restoring our faith in a God that will not turn back until He has fully accomplished the plans in His heart (Jeremiah 30:24).
I can’t wait to share what God has done in my life so you can watch God unravel his brilliant plan. Although not an easy story to live, it is a marvelous story to tell.

“The strongest weapons against Satan are celebration, praise, and God’s word.”
“Love shares both the joy and the pain of another. It is impossible to separate the two.”
“Complicated, it is, when you tangle yourself up in a toxic web. No one can tell what you mean, or how much you mean it, and no one can concisely set you apart from your addiction. No one. Not even yourself.”
“Despite our failures and shortcomings, God is who He is. A God of redeeming power. Forever on the throne, His mercies new every morning, unfailing. He promises to complete His work in us, and He does not ask for our approval. He does not consult with us on the best way to get our attention, or align our heart with His. He simply does what He chooses, as He deems things, because He is God, and He is sovereign.”
“Grief has a way of sapping the dream out of you. A bristled brush that stirs up loose, unfinished business and dangles it in your face.”
“When one person is imprisoned, everyone feels the weight of their chains. The enemy whispers, “It’s over…there is nothing good left in you.” God declares, “I never give up on my own.” It never crosses God’s mind to waiver, to turn back once He has declared victory on a life. All the forces of hell cannot counteract it. God is purposeful in His pursuit of us, both in our salvation and our healing.”
